Few athletes in the country enjoyed more success in their respective sport this past fall than a Nike All-American taking in life in the Tulip City.
If a high school cross country athlete hit the start line at a girls event with the Pella Dutch attending, they did so with one of the best teams and individuals in the country ready to dominate.
Marissa Ferebee spent the fall of 2024 demolishing state record books and establishing herself as the fastest-ever high school distance runner on a team that put together the most impressive performance in state meet history.
In this January sit-down interview, Ferebee sits down to discuss a lot — her journey into running and to Pella, the process it takes to keep herself in top shape, relationships with teammates, and her passion for food away from the running world.
She also discusses her training program, which includes XLR8 Performance, and how she’s balanced that with the work of the Dutch coaching staff and Doug Cutler.
